Each week we are asked to especially remember the work and
witness of Christians

Minister's

churches of Paignton.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Read and digest the
contents of the Fire Evacuation Notices near the Exits. If the Fire Alarm
sounds, leave by the nearest Exit and assemble in Palace Avenue Gardens.
DON’T
FORGET….. the church is open every Monday and Wednesday morning from 10.00 to 12.00
Please make use of this in any way you would find helpful; come and sit quietly
for a few minutes; pray or ask for prayer for yourself or others; or spend some
time looking at the church website on the computer behind the organ. There are
always two people available if you would like to talk about anything at all and
there is normally a coffee morning on in the foyer on a Wednesday as well. So, why not make a
visit to Palace
Avenue Methodist Church on a Monday and/or Wednesday morning – it might be just the
‘oasis’ you need.

Coffee Mornings:
Extra help is needed for coffee mornings in the church foyer from

this would be appreciated. Helping with coffee mornings can be both
enjoyable and rewarding. Please

CAN YOU SPARE A FEW MOMENTS FOR A CHAT?
Mrs Phyllis Quinton is 99
years young and a member of our church but unable to share in worship or go out
alone. She is the only permanent resident at the Park Hotel and
appreciates the company of visitors. The next few weeks are ‘children’s weeks ‘
so Phyllis will have less company - hence the question! Just pop in and
say hello, she loves a chat.

SUNDAY 09.00 ALTERNATIVE
SERVICES
The Sunday services for 09.00 alternatives this year will feature
a charity, mission, or theme, as well as personal worship. They will
include information on featured charities, along with prayer, sometimes
activities, and space to hear from God! So do come along and experience an
09.00 alternative worship service for something different.
FRONT OF CHURCH - NOTICE BOARD
The garden under the notice
board at the front of the church has been treated with chemicals, so please stay
away from the soil. This area is under ‘reconstruction’. Thank you.
KINA
As a requirement of my training, I will be running a
course at Palace Avenue called "Finding Faith at the Movies." It will take
place on Wednesday evenings in September. It will involve watching clips
of a film; exploring connections between film and faith by examining the bible;
and a time of discussion. The topics will be:
03 September - Saving Private Ryan – Sacrifice
10 September - Dead Man Walking - Repentance: Why is confession good for the
soul?
17 September - Smoke Signals - How do we give and accept Forgiveness?
24 September - A River runs through it - How are memories vehicles of Grace?
The sessions will run from 19.30 to 21.00. If you would like to take
part it would be great to see you. The maximum number I can accept for the
course is 12, so I have attached a sheet to the notice board in the foyer
for any interested parties to 'sign up' and I will be in touch with you nearer
the time. Thanks, Kina.
